Berlin´s biggest church - a protestant church with a huge dome on top that in all it´s splendour seems like a catholic church. Underneath is the Hohenzollern Gruft, the grave of the german imperial family and one of the biggest of it´s kind with more than 2000 coffins.
The anti Versailles of a great german (or prussian) king Frederik the Great, the palaces and gardens of Sanssouci (without sorrows) are a gem. The landscaped gardens are wonderful to wander around on a sunny day. The city of Potsdam altogether is very pretty and offers even more gardens, palaces and beautiful views.
Neues Museum offers you the chance to meet and ancient queen - Nefertete. She is the worlds most well known face of the old Egypt after the mask of Tut Ench Amun. Apart from her, the wonderfully renovated Neues Museum offers loads of great artefacts from ancient times.

The area around Alte Schönhauser Straße, Alte Schönhauser Straße, Weinmeisterstraße and Hackescher Markt is the most interesting part in Mitte when it comes to shopping. It has small individual shops, brand shops, hipster brand shops, trendy cafés and eating places.
The jewish museum - yes, there is a part about the holocaust in it, but it is a museum about judaism in Germany going back hundreds of years. Very interesting and inspiring, one of the best museums in Berlin. The biggest part is in a new building by Daniel Liebeskind - a very notable piece of architecture.
The food is ok, but that is not what you are coming for. It is their outside terrace on the height of the water of the Spree river beside Warschauer Brücke with a great metropolitain view. You can also go just for drinks or coffee during the day.
Two young dutch guys opened this restaurant about a year ago and landed an instant hit. They offer a set menu as well as chairs at a bar where you can order small dishes. The only real dutch thing is a deluxe version of Bitterballen. Apart from that they offer selected mostly german wines and belgian beers.
This is what they say:
Our bar is open for spontaneous visits, where we serve small sharable dishes, as well as our Lode & Stijn Menu. Additionally we offer a wide selection of exciting wines and Belgian beers. If you would like to reserve a seat at the bar, please call us at: +49(0)3065214507
